Chanel Boy Bag: Tipps zum Second Hand Kauf & der erste Look mit meiner Traumtasche

Hier ist er, der erste Look mit meiner absoluten Traumtasche, einer Chanel Boy Bag! Zudem habe ich ein paar Tipps zum Second Hand Kauf einer Designertasche zusammengestellt. Leider habe ich vor Jahren nämlich bereits schlechte Erfahrungen gemacht, die ich euch ersparen möchte…

Tipp 1: Vertrauenswürdige Anbieter finden

Beim Kauf einer Designertasche – egal ob neu, Second Hand oder Vintage – geht es meist um sehr viel Geld. Wenn man schon eine solche Investition eingehen möchte, sollte beim Kauf zumindest alles glatt gehen. Empfehlen kann ich euch als Käufer auf jeden Fall spezialisierte Onlineshops wie Vestiaire oder Rebelle. Hier habt ihr die Garantie, dass die Artikel auf Echtheit geprüft werden und auch der vom Verkäufer angegebene Zustand wird kontrolliert. Sollte dieser nicht zutreffen, wird man benachrichtigt und der Preis wird ggfs. nochmal nachverhandelt oder man kann vom Kauf zurücktreten.

Natürlich sind auch Second Hand Boutiquen eine mögliche Anlaufstelle, allerdings zahlt man hier meist noch etwas mehr und das Angebot ist nicht so groß wie auf den Online-Plattformen, sodass man selten genau die Designertasche o.ä. findet, die man wollte.

Nicht empfehlen kann ich Käufe über Ebay – außer die Käufer haben den Käuferschutz aktiviert – oder Webseiten wie Mädchenflohmarkt. Hier gibt es viel Betrug und wenig Schutz; auch ich bin hier schon einmal auf eine Verkäuferin reingefallen… Bei solch wertvollen Gütern sollte man sich das zweimal überlegen.

Ebay-Kleinanzeigen hingegen kann eine echte Alternative sein – vorausgesetzt ihr holt euch die Tasche selbst ab und überprüft sie vor Ort. Über den Versandweg würde ich hier ebenfalls keine Designertasche kaufen. Nehmt lieber einen weiteren Weg in Kauf – es geht hier schließlich nicht um ein neues T-Shirt. Bevor ihr aber losfahrt, lasst euch so viele Infos wie möglich, weitere Fotos, ggfs. Rechnungskopien usw. schicken und schreibt/sprecht vorab ausführlich mit dem Verkäufer. So vermeidet ihr eher, dass ihr unnötige Wege auf euch nehmt.

Tipp 2: Habt Geduld

Geduld ist etwas, was mir schwer fällt. Vor allem, wenn ich mich endgültig für etwas entschieden habe. Ich hatte den Wunsch einer Chanel Boy Bag vor zwei Jahren erst einmal wieder nach hinten geschoben. Nach dem Tod von Karl Lagerfeld war er aber prompt wieder präsent wie nie. Ich dachte mir: Wenn nicht jetzt, wann dann? Die Preise der Chanel Taschen werden vermutlich eher weiter steigen, als dass sie nochmal sinken.

Trotzdem ist Geduld auch beim Second Hand Kauf einer Designertasche eine Tugend. Lasst euch nicht verleiten von zwielichtigen Angeboten oder solchen, die nicht ganz eurem Wunsch entsprechen. Legt euch Wunschlisten an, beobachtet die Preise, verhandelt und schlaft drüber. Ich hatte schon die ein oder andere Tasche ins Auge gefasst und zum Glück den Hubby an meiner Seite, der mir teilweise vehement abgeraten hat. Denn bei besonders günstigen Angeboten gibt es oftmals ein paar Nachteile wie fehlendes Zubehör, oder deutlichere Gebrauchsspuren. Klar, hier kommt es darauf an, was ihr möchtet und womit ihr euch anfreunden könnt. Mir war es wichtig, dass die Tasche möglichst wie neu ist und so viel Zubehör, vor allem aber die Chanel Authentizitätskarte mit dabei ist.

Achtung: Auch die kann man fälschen! Macht euch schlau, es gibt einige Tipps, die auch ich vorab nachgelesen habe, und fragt im Zweifel direkt bei Chanel nach der Prüfnummer.

Tipp 3: Setzt euch ein Maximalbudget

Bevor ihr auf die Suche nach eurer Traumtasche geht, solltet ihr euch ein Maximalbudget setzen. Dies sollte für das Modell, für das ihr euch entschieden habt, natürlich realistisch angesetzt sein. Ich muss gestehen, dass ich am Ende ein klein wenig über meinem Maximum lag, aber dennoch ein echtes Schnäppchen gemacht habe. Mehr dazu gleich…

Tipp 4: Eignet euch Wissen über eure Wunschtasche an

Bevor ihr eure Tasche such, solltest ihr euch über die Tasche, die ihr ins Auge gefasst hast, möglichst viel Wissen aneignen. Das erleichtert die Suche. Für mich war zum Beispiel wichtig, welches Material und welche Steppung die Chanel Tasche hat. Es gibt verschiedene Ledersorten, wobei Lammleder sehr empfindlich und das sogenannte Caviar-Leder sehr widerstandsfähig, aber auch am teuersten ist. Ich habe mich letztlich für ein Modell aus Kalbsleder mit Chevron-Muster entschieden, das ebenfalls nicht so empfindlich ist; schließlich möchte ich die Tasche tragen und lange Spaß daran haben.

Wichtig ist auch, dass ihr über die Größen Bescheid wisst. Neben einer Boy Bag hätte mich auch eine klassische Flap Bag aus Caviar-Leder interessiert und ich war schon kurz davor, mir eine zu kaufen. Eines Sonntags vor ein paar Wochen ist der Hubby kurzerhand noch am Abend mit mir nach Köln gefahren zu einer sehr lieben Kleinanzeigen-Verkäuferin. Sie hatte eine Classic Bag in Maxi Format im Angebot. Wie neu und mit allem drum und dran. Leider war die Tasche aber viiiiiel zu riesig für mich. Selbst schuld, ich hätte mich hier mehr über die Größe informieren müssen. Im Nachhinein ein Glück, denn wenig später fand der Hubby meine Traumtasche.

Wie ich zu meiner Chanel Boy Bag kam

Nach den Tipps möchte ich natürlich noch kurz berichten, wie ich letztlich meine Chanel Tasche fand. Nun, eigentlich hat der Hubby sie entdeckt auf Ebay Kleinanzeigen. Ich hatte sie auch bereits gesehen, aber sie sprengte mein Maximalbudget deutlich. Der Hubby ließ sich nicht beirren und ging in die Verhandlung mit der lieben Verkäuferin. Wie sich herausstellte, gab es tatsächlich noch Verhandlungsspielraum. Da sie trotzdem noch über meinem Maximalbudget von 3.000 Euro lag, war ich zögerlich, doch der Hubby nahm mir die Entscheidung quasi ab und ist kurzerhand in einer Mittagspause zur Verkäuferin gefahren, hat die Tasche begutachtet und gekauft. Natürlich hatte ich dann auch schon mein Okay gegeben.

Denn letztlich stimmte hier alles: Die Tasche ist wie neu und kam als “Fullset”. Das heißt, es ist alles, wirklich alles mit dabei: Die Rechnung, der Karton, der Staubbeutel, die Chanel Kamelie, die Chanel Bänder und natürlich die Echtheitskarte. Symbolisch noch sehr schön: Sie wurde 2017 in einer Chanel Boutique in Barcelona gekauft – dem Haupturlaubsort unserer Flitterwochen. Da konnte ich einfach nicht nein sagen!

Bereut habe ich es seitdem kein Stück, denn schon jetzt würde ich die Tasche – sollte ich jemals auf diese Idee kommen – für mindestens das gleiche Geld wieder verkaufen können. Und die Tendenz ist ganz klar steigend, wenn man bedenkt, dass mein Modell neu bei Chanel aktuell schon bei weit über 4.000 Euro liegt. Daran denke ich aber aktuell gar nicht, denn mein Plan ist es, sie zu tragen bis ich alt und grau bin. :-D

Ein Look im Chanel-Stil

Für den ersten Look mit meiner Traumtasche habe ich ein Outfit ganz im Chanel-Stil gewählt. Super klassisch, aber durch die kurzen Ledershorts doch wieder sehr cool. Die Tweedjacke und der Schwarz-Weiß-Look generell bringen die Chanel Boy Bag einfach ideal zur Geltung, oder was meint ihr? ;-)

Here it is, the first look with my absolute dream bag, a Chanel boy bag! I’ve also put together a few tips for buying a second hand designer bag. Unfortunately I made some bad experiences years ago, which I would like to spare you…

Tip 1: Find trustworthy providers

When buying a designer bag – whether new, second hand or vintage – a lot of money is involved. If you already want to make such an investment, at least everything should go smoothly. I can recommend you as a buyer in any case specialized online shops such as Vestiaire or Rebelle. Here you have the guarantee that the articles are checked for authenticity and also the condition indicated by the seller is checked. If this is not the case, you will be notified and the price may be renegotiated or you can withdraw from the purchase.

Of course second hand boutiques are also a possible contact point, but here you usually pay a little more and the offer is not as big as on the online platforms, so that you rarely find exactly the designer bag or the like you wanted.

I can’t recommend buying on Ebay – unless the buyers have activated buyer protection – or websites like Mädchenflohmarkt. Here there is a lot of fraud and little protection; I have also fallen for a seller once… With such valuable goods you should think twice.

Ebay Kleinanzeigen, on the other hand, can be a real alternative – provided you pick up the bag yourself and check it on the spot. I wouldn’t buy a designer bag here either. You’d better take another route – after all, this isn’t about a new T-shirt. But before you go, get as much information as possible, more photos, copies of invoices, etc. and write or talk to the seller in detail beforehand. This way you can avoid taking unnecessary paths.

Tip 2: Be patient

Patience is something I have trouble with. Especially when I have finally decided for something. Two years ago I pushed the desire for a Chanel Boy Bag back once again. After Karl Lagerfeld’s death, however, it was promptly present again like never before. I thought to myself: If not now, then when? The prices of Chanel bags will probably continue to rise rather than fall again.

Nevertheless, patience is also a virtue when buying a second hand designer bag. Don’t be tempted by dubious offers or those that don’t quite meet your wishes. Create wish lists, watch prices, negotiate and sleep over them. I already had one or the other bag in my eye and luckily the hubby at my side, which sometimes vehemently discouraged me. Because with particularly favorable offers there are often a few disadvantages like missing accessories, or clearer traces of use. Sure, here it depends on what you want and what you can make friends with. It was important to me that the bag is as new as possible and that there are so many accessories, especially the Chanel authenticity card.

Attention: You can forge them, too! Make yourselves smart, there are some tips, which I have also read in advance, and in case of doubt ask Chanel directly for the check number.

Tip 3: Set yourself a maximum budget

Before you go in search of your dream bag, you should set yourself a maximum budget. This should of course be realistic for the model you have chosen. I have to admit that in the end I was a little bit above my maximum, but still got a real bargain. More about that now…

Tip 4: Acquire knowledge about your dream bag

Before you search for your bag, you should acquire as much knowledge as possible about the bag you have in mind. This will make the search easier. For me, for example, it was important which material and which quilting the Chanel bag has. There are different types of leather, whereby lamb leather is very delicate and the so-called caviar leather is very resistant, but also most expensive. I finally decided on a calfskin model with a chevron pattern, which isn’t that delicate either; after all, I want to carry the bag and have fun with it for a long time.

It is also important that you know the sizes. In addition to a boy bag, I would have been interested in a classic caviar leather flap bag and I was just about to buy one. One Sunday a few weeks ago the Hubby went to Cologne with me to a very dear Kleinanzeigen seller. She had a classic bag in maxi format on offer. Like new and with all the trimmings. Unfortunately the bag was far too big for me. Even blame it on myself, I would have found out more about the size of the bag here.

How I came to my Chanel Boy Bag

After the tips I would like to tell you how I finally found my Chanel bag. Well, actually the Hubby discovered it on Ebay Kleinanzeigen. I had already seen it, but it was way beyond my maximum budget. The hubby did not allow himself to be put off and went into negotiations with the dear saleswoman. As it turned out, there was actually still room for negotiation. Since it was still above my maximum budget of 3,000 Euros, I was hesitant, but the hubby took the decision off my hands and drove to the seller in a lunch break, examined the bag and bought it. Of course, I had already given my okay.

Because in the end everything was right here: The bag is like new and came as a “full set”. That means there is everything, really everything with it: The bill, the box, the dust bag, the Chanel camellia, the Chanel ribbons and of course the authenticity card. Symbolically still very beautiful: It was bought in 2017 in a Chanel boutique in Barcelona – the main holiday destination of our honeymoon. I just couldn’t say no!

I haven’t regretted a thing since then, because even now I would be able to sell the bag – should I ever come up with this idea – for at least the same amount of money. And the trend is clearly rising, if you consider that my new model at Chanel is currently already well over 4,000 euros. But I’m not thinking about that at the moment, because my plan is to wear them until I’m old and grey. :-D

For the first look with my dream bag I chose an outfit in Chanel style. Super classic, but very cool with the short leather shorts. The tweed jacket and the black and white look in general bring out the Chanel Boy Bag just perfect, or what do you think? ;-)
